The Northern Shenandoah Valley Community Veterans Engagement Board (CVEB) brings together local resources and capabilities to improve outcomes for Veterans, transitioning service members, and those who support them. Northern Shenandoah Valley CVEB is an opportunity for community stakeholders to discuss Veteran issues, develop collaborative relationships with VA leadership and each other. In addition, identifying opportunities to improve experience of local Veterans  and strategically executing resolutions. 

EXECUTIVE OFFICERS:

Mike is a distinguished leader and advocate for veterans' welfare, currently serving as the Chairman of the Northern Shenandoah Valley Community Veterans Engagement Board. A combat veteran who served in the United States Navy submarine service during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Mike is deeply committed to supporting his fellow veterans. As the former District Commander for the 9 VFW posts in the Northern Shenandoah Valley and a current member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Berryville, he has played a pivotal role in fostering camaraderie and support within the veteran community. In his professional capacity, Mike works for the State of Virginia as a Veterans Employment Representative, dedicated to assisting veterans facing significant barriers to employment in their journey towards meaningful and fulfilling careers. Concurrently, Mike proudly serves as the Mayor of Stephens City, currently in his second term, exemplifying his unwavering dedication to public service.

Niccole serves as the Vice Chair for the NSV CVEB. She is the Assistant Registrar: Veterans and Technology Specialist at Shenandoah University. She has been with Shenandoah for fourteen years. Twelve of those fourteen years she has worked with military members, veterans, and their family members. While raising three little girls, ages 14, 12, and 7, Niccole has obtained her Bachelors of Arts degree in Mass Communications and her Master in Organizational Leadership. She looks forward to continuing her career in higher education and working with student and community Veterans.

Shari serves as the Secretary and Outreach and Media Coordinator for the NSV CVEB. She has previously served as Commander of AMVETS Post 18. Shari holds a Bachelors of Science in Management and an Associates in Information  Systems Technology. Shari worked many years as a contractor for the federal government after her time in the military with the U.S. Air Force from 1982 to 1989 as a computer operator and technical support specialist. She is the proud Mom to two adult children and amazing 9-year-old grandtwins.

Cynthia serves as an Advisor for the NSV CVEB. She is the CEO at the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber.  TVRC represents over 820 businesses in the Northern Shenandoah Valley region and has a primary focus of connecting business and community resources for mutual success, fostering regional prosperity.  The chamber is advocates for the business community at the local, state, and regional levels particularly with an emphasis on workforce development.  As the mother of an Airman, Cynthia has a heartfelt connection to the military service providers.
